Error Installing Desktop Experience

Feb 20, 2014 Windows Media Player is not installed after installing the Desktop Experience feature on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer that is. Free tone generator software. I'm trying to install Desktop Experience on Windows Server 2008 R2. I get an error message during the installation process that installation failed. I looked in the.

I have a HP laserjet pro 300 color printer that I am trying to install on the network. The problem is during the setup, desktop experience feature is required.

I tried to install this feature but it fails to install. I tried using Ethernet cable and USB connection to the server, but can't move forward until the desktop experience feature is installed. A side issue is that the printer does not appear to be recognized on the network.

When the network report is printed, no IP address appears. I tried to assign a manual one with the same results when report is printed. No errow code is given. It basically does a reverting process after rebooting. Adam, as mentioned in the link provided, it gets about 25% after reboot then reverts changes and gets caught in loop.

I had to end the process to get it to stop. As for the IP address, the linksys router is the DHCP. No since in changeing this now since client will be moving office in about a month. This is a Windows Server 2008 Standard OS. I will see if I can just install it on one of the XP workstations instead this week. This should allow me to see if the printer shows up when installing on workstation.

Tried manual install but still not sure why IP address did not appear once report from printer was printed out. Did try to restore printer defaults, but no luck. Maybe the Ethernet port is bad(which I hope not) but I could try USB to a workstation that is by the server if port is bad. I will let you know. Are you using the Universal driver provided by HP? I have installed this printer before and have not had that issue on Server 2008 R2 Standard (not core).

Sounds like you are trying to install more than what is necessary for a print server environment. Could you clarify which driver you are using or if this is a hardware failure (if it's not keep the IP address settings 1 of 2 things could be happening, 1) settings are not being applied & saved OR 2) you have a hardware failure and you need to have the printer serviced by a HP tech.
