I'm not the original compiler/collector of this collection. Got these entire Heretic and Hexen collections from Russian websites, but all games and setups are in English.

As a Dutch (NL) dude i must say that the Russians are Gods when it comes down to repacks and collections. I've only sorted and merged some collections together and ofcourse tested everything and it works great. With some older versions you need to use Dosbox ofcourse, but i've also included some ZDoom versions which are direct-to-play (no dosbox required).

There are a few other games like doom, Wolfenstein 3D and Strife (all direct-to-play), but only a few, it's mainly Heretic and Hexen ofcourse. Configure keyboard and mouse controls if you want and start playing the games. It's not as difficult as Hexen 2 proper, and adds a bit to the story, but the main appeal is the new hub with very cool level designs, and new character class. Hexen/Heretic story is somewhat standalone from game to game, but it makes more sense chronologically Heretic/Shadow of the Serpent Riders Hexen/Deathkings of Dark Citadel Hexen 2/Portal of Praevus Heretic 2. Hexen 2 is the most difficult of the bunch, with the most 'hostile' level design, to the point that I gave up about halfway through third episode and never managed to finish it.
